ClassyPaints artist spotlight. What caught our eyes about Classy is their ability to capture the true essence of their characters and leave enough room for the audience to fill in the blanks.

When do you first remember becoming interested in ClassyPaints work?

I saw “Allie” in a twitter post of Classy’s a few months back.

You’ve managed to snag ClassyPaints’ favorite work to date—”Allie”. As far as we can tell, this was also one of your first NFTs artworks you collected. Why did “Allie” call out to you so heavily? What emotions did the piece invoke in you?

ClassyPaints, Allie, 2020, edition 1 of 1

At first it was Allie’s eyes that drew me in. Somber as though she had some dark secret. And then I saw the snake, hiding in plain sight. It felt like Allie had a past. It was the makings of an eerie Fairy tale.

I was excited and grabbed it. My first Rarible purchase. I started feeling like a real collector then.

Have you decided to collect more of their work after “Allie”? Why or why not?

I’m definitely open to collecting more from Classy. I have been waiting for the right one, though. Something with the richness and depth of “Allie”.

ClassyPaints has been quite prolific with portrait work. If they were to delve into different types of work, what would you like to see them tackle?

I’d want to see Classy take a step back from the subject and try a more complicated scene. Something detailed with a rich story. I love world-building!

ClassyPaints is quite young (19 years old). Did they make an impact when you were deciding whether or not to collect their work?

I started chatting with Classy after I bought “Allie” so I didn’t have much background going in. If collecting crypto-art up to this point has taught me anything is that there are a bunch of young, talented artists out there!
